Turkish Fig and Apricot Tea Brack
Only 11 in stock
A twist on the traditional Irish favorite and naturally dairy-free, this takes four days to make correctly!!! The fruits are first soaked in strong, black tea for three days before baking with a blend of spices.
Tea Báirín Breac (meaning ‘Speckled Loaf’) is an old Irish recipe usually eaten at Halloween but great anytime. At home we would add various tokens into the mix such as ‘a coin’ (meaning fortune) or ‘a ring’ (meaning marriage) as a fortune telling game. But this is a rich, delicious fruit cake with a 200 year old history.
